The Date Night Dress & Simple Slip
2 garments in one pattern!!
THE DATE NIGHT DRESS is an effortless garment with subtle drama. The flutter sleeves flatter arms and the open armhole can be slightly sultry, offering a teasing peek at the Simple Slip or perhaps a lacy bra underneath. There are several ways to style--wear it loose, with a ready-made belt, with shirring, or with a fabric sash. Both the box pleat at the back of the neck and the soft shirttail hem add a bit more interest, and you can show as much or as little leg as you like by shortening or lengthening the pattern pieces.
SIMPLE SLIP is a quick-to-sew, easy-to-wear piece. It’s perfect for layering under any dress, but completely suitable for wearing alone. It’s especially comfy for bed!
Suitable for beginning sewers.
Includes women's sizes xs-xxl.
For the Date Night Dress, use a lightweight textile with nice drape, such as voile, rayon, double gauze, shot cotton, silk, chambray or linen blends.
For the Simple Slip, use a lightweight textile that layers well with your chosen dress fabric. You don't need to be confined to the use of actual "slip" materials (like polyester or silk). These can be nice, but you can also use rayon, thin chambray or lace. Just consider carefully how the two garments will interact when layered.
